About Me
I decided not to go back to work since having my first baby who was born in July 2016. I like to still keep this blog going as a record of my work and to write every now and again about what I’m up to.
I used to describe myself as an ‘extreme culturalist’. My career, studies and leisure time have been focussed on the arts world. I couldn’t live without visual art, film, music and more!
In my working life I have been film programmer and cinema manager for an independent art-house cinema within JW3 – the Jewish community and cultural arts centre in London 2013-2016. I worked at CHELSEA space gallery during the academic year 2012-13, as I was the recipient of the Chelsea Arts Club Trust Research Fellowship Award for that year, which involved being trained in and getting hands on experience of all of gallery life .
That experience and indeed this blog publicising the projects I work on, led to me being appointed as curator for Notting Hill Arts Club – a specialist pioneering music and arts venue. I curated my own programme of bi monthly (every two months) visual arts exhibitions as well as live sound and performance events. I have also been curatorial associate for the Chelsea Salon Series which involved me organising and leading salon events – exhibitions and talks for alumni and students of Chelsea College of Art & Design with external institutions and venues outside of the University. I also worked for a number of years in a higher education arts administration role at Chelsea College of Art and Design.
I have carried out internships, work placements and worked at various museums and galleries including: National Gallery London, Royal Collections (Clarence House, Buckingham Palace, Royal Mews, Queens Gallery London), Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, Wallace Collection London, Museo Degli Argenti, (Silver Museum) Pitti Palace in Florence and Hackney Museum.
My undergraduate BA Hons. was in Art History and Italian and I have an MA in Museum Studies. I also did a short course in Independent Curating at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and have completed training courses within the independent film exhibition cinema industry.
